Crane bird, also called Grus Grus, is a large bird from Scandinavian countries that spends Spring and Summer time at the North of Europe and arrives at the South of Europe, Spain in this case, to stay for the Autumn and Winter season. They start to fly back home at the beginning of March.
A Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish. To celebrate the end of the winter and the coming of a new season cycle, remembering that every end is the beginning of something new and therefore promising, we’ve decided to simulate the departure of the Grus Grus with glowing origami cranes placed at an open public space in Barcelona, a dark spot within the city. We’ve chosen the blue as the color to paint the origami bird as a representation of the night.
